Props and Actors

The equipment that i will be using will be using to make my magazine will be:

Different clothing for each person, in a specified rock clothing usually black and white
(this will be to make the logo stand out i will add on later)

Possibly a lone acoustic guitar with words written across it

Also a camera as without it no images would be taken or used and the magazine would not be any good.

I just asked my "Band" played by Jack Hughes and Graeme McCullough to wear their typical sixth form clothes (a shirt, tie and pants) this is because it shows they are smart and are a positive influence in the music industry.

I borrowed chairs from school and got the two boys to act in various poses to show they are in the music industry.

Actors
I  will take a picture of a few of my classmates that will be later altered via special effects
The following pictures represent the picture i will be trying to replicate in someway

This is my mood board to show the genre of Rock and Roll

This is my mood board used with special effects on the bands to show the alternative route my magazine will be going down compared to the other magazines. The bright logos which are well known all around the world are in a stand out colour to mark their importance, Logos distinguish a band and can make them well known. this is why they are included

Jolo Magazine Name

The differences in text are shown here, my magazine name JOLO is a name that has a soft ring to it so the importance of the text is shown by the "curliness" of the text. the differences in text will be shown int he above curly text and the more in your face style below.

The font of the text is not the sole most important thing, it alines with colour to be of importance, the colour of the text can make a magazine live up to its genre such as if Kerrang's masthead was in a pink text but did a piece about Black Sabbath it would not fit due to the genre of the magazines piece of black sabbath's genre would be heavy metal and that is usually associated with dark colours mostly black.

The magazine's image is also important as it gives the typography meaning as to the colours used in the picture will often represent that of the genre that will be included

Typography

The typography of magazines refers to the colour use and also the type of font used, it distinguishes the magazines from the crowd and gives them differences from other magazines of similar genre.

The typography of Q Magazine differs to the style of MOJO despite them being similar in terms of genre but the typography is completely different, the colours used in the masthead by Q is used to make it out stand out as the colours of red and yellow are perceived quicker than any other colour by our human brain, the colour red is used more in link with the masthead.

While in MOJO the masthead is in black but the secondary colour of orange is used around the magazine this is in link with the free item which is common in many magazines.

The Pop magazine's typography is extremely simple but portrayed in a extremely different style to that of pop as its colours are of dark quantity while pop is bright and colourful. The difference in typography could be down to the artist or artists due to be on the cover that week, the genre, or the target audience.

Below is an example of the typography i expect to use in my magazine
