Questionnaire Results

Here is my questionnaire results, thank you for participating ........

These results show me the mean age of people who read music magazines are male and aged between 14-17. This also tells me the favourite Genre of music that people prefer is Rock and Roll and that the majority of people will pay £3.51- £4.00 for a magazine.

Basic Music Magazine Layout

This is a basic example of what a music magazine's layout tends to replicate. The contents page style varies from magazine to magazine depending on their house style. I will replicate this contents page later on in the course

Music Genre choice

My genre choice is of Rock due to it being the highest and most popular choice of music magazine as done in the questionnaire. A brief intro about rock is that its probably the most well known music genre in the world and its most popular time was in my opinion in the 80's, it inspired hundreds of bands to pursue this genre as it attracted huge audiences and its importance in developing other genres cannot be understated.

Music Genres have originated from one specific genre then they have evolved over time, they have originated from The Blues which was the first music genre. Similarities can be seen in today's music genres such as hip hop has some similarities with rap and they are both related closely to pop. aNOTHER EXAMPLES

Intro

This in my Media Studies blog where i will be posting my work in have completed in and out of my media lessons, I will over my subject timeline be posting Videos, Images, posters and detailed analysis of many media objects such especially magazines which is out main effort to produce.

These are 3 of the main areas included in a music magazine that the reader and or the audience will take a vague interest in which will persuade them to buy.

I at the end of my course will aim to produce these three items of the magazine to a high quality like those in Music Magazines such as Q, NME and Mojo

This magazine cover is exremely simple as that

This picture is not suitable as it is a close up shot and not a medium shot which was intended, also it does not give off a suitable message as the girl is wearing a hat while in school    

This image is not suitable as despite it being a medium shot the subject in the camera is looking directly at it instead of working which gives off the impression that students are easily distracted

This image again is a Medium shot but the student further in the image seems to be distracting the closer student so it isn't suitable.

This image is not suitable as the student in focus is laughing which gives off the impression its easier to mess about

This image would be suitable if not for the hand which seems to be connecting with the student, unfortunate as it shows the students working in an actual environment with the facilities available

This image is suitable all around but there is barely any quality and other pictures have better

I have chosen this picture as my college magazine front cover due to its quality and it shows a student working away hard with a winter feel to it.

Using Photoshop

Firstly 1 got pictures that were different to their typical locations such as Jay Z and a tropical beach, then i edited out the back ground of Jay Z and placed him into the background image. 

Next we edited the skin of Gisele by using the Spot Healing Brush tool, this uses skin from one part of her face and copies it over the spot. Next we edited out her shiny forehead by using the same technique.

Next we edited Scarlett Johansson lips to be bright red on a black and white background by making the full background black and white, copying her lips into another layer then pasted them back to make the lips red

This helped me as it enabled me to understand how to change the colour of certain parts of the image which I could then transfer to use on text to change one or two words into a certain colour or to change the colour of a persons eyes to a very distinguished colour to make it stand out
